It all started in Argentina, where Roxana grew up watching her parents, Elva and Quique, run a successful sofa factory. Those childhood days—playing among fabrics, wood frames, and tools—planted the seed for a lifelong love of craftsmanship.

Years later, as Roxana prepared to start her own family, Gustavo, her husband— a skilled carpenter who knew the family’s history and the painful closure of the factory after a major financial loss—  understood the value and depth of that legacy, so he proposed something bold to Roxana's father, to start over...  and they did!

  As the business began to grow again, Roxana learned creative direction, daily management, and also the craft of sewing from her father. Gustavo also deepened his skills, learning the art of upholstery directly from him.

For eleven years, they worked together, building and restoring furniture with heart and purpose. But with Argentina’s economy in decline, in 2000 Gustavo and Roxana had to make a major life decision. And with two small children and a suitcase full of dreams, they moved to the United States in search of stability and opportunity.

Here, in their new home, they continued doing what they knew best—crafting furniture with heart and skill. After years of working for others, they finally opened their own small shop from home, called Roxana Custom Upholstery, where many of their most loyal and beloved clients first met them.

Today, that passion has grown into DecoRox Designs: a fully equipped public studio where Gustavo and Roxana bring together decades of experience in design, carpentry, and upholstery. DecoRox is the continuation of a story that started in the 1970s—still family-owned, still deeply hands-on, and still driven by the belief that furniture isn’t just functional—it’s personal, emotional, and full of soul. A place built not just with tools, but with legacy, resilience, and a deep love for creating pieces that last.
